June Birth Stars
June nights bring the vanguard of the Summer Triangle: Vega in Lyra. All 30 days have their own star; the standouts are Vega, Sargas, Rasalhague, and Eltanin. Vega, the Weaver Star of the Tanabata legend, is the birth star for June 27.
Our birth stars are an independently compiled system: from the stars named by the International Astronomical Union, our editors chose the one that culminates around midnight on each date. Other sources may assign different stars, but this page follows our own mapping throughout.

The June night sky
Vega (the 27th and 29th) is a brilliant magnitude-0 blue-white star — the Weaver Princess of the Tanabata story. Lyra is a small constellation, but Vega stands out even through gaps in the rainy-season clouds.
June is the season of Scorpius and Ophiuchus. Sargas (the 15th) lies in the Scorpion's tail; Rasalhague (the 14th) is the head of the Serpent Bearer. Eltanin (the 18th) is the orange eye of Draco, the dragon coiling through the northern sky.
How to enjoy June birth stars

- Find it at culmination: at midnight Vega is almost directly overhead — simply look straight up.
- Pair it with the birthday color: rainy-season colors and star words for a gift like a night sky after rain.
- For gifts and cards: add the tale of the Weaver and the Cowherd to make a June gift special.
