May Birth Fruits
May fills the stalls with early-summer fruit. Each of the 31 days carries its own birth fruit: cherry, pineapple, Hyuganatsu, Amanatsu, loquat and more. May 1 belongs to the cherry, whose fruit words are "small joy" and "fleeting moment".
Our birth fruits are compiled independently by one rule: prefer the fruit whose peak season includes your date. Cherries lead, bridged to summer by loquat and acerola.
For Mother's Day, seasonal fruit is a natural gift — add a card with the fruit words.

Fruits of May
May is when tree-ripened fruit gathers. Cherries taste their best from late May into June, on their way to Satonishiki. Loquat, the quiet yellow fruit, peaks from May into June.
Okinawan pineapples ship from late April with their best from May to July. Acerola, the tiny red fruit of Okinawa, is famous as a bundle of vitamins, and Amanatsu brings a relaxed sweetness peaking in May and June.
Ways to enjoy May birth fruits
- Pick by fruit words: the cherry's "small joy" suits messages for people who brighten ordinary days.
- Taste the season: chilled loquat eaten straight, or a pineapple smoothie — early-summer fruit is best cold.
- Pair with the color: carnation red beside cherry red lifts a Mother's Day gift.
- Cards and gifts: add fruit words to a Children's Day note.
